Delete your account and data

BookReader for Android (com.bookreader.app)

Last updated: 15 August 2026

This page explains how to delete your BookReader account, how to delete only your synced data while keeping the account, exactly what each option removes, and what happens if you can no longer open the app.

You may not have an account at all. BookReader works fully offline and signing in is optional. If you never signed in with Google, there is no account and nothing stored on our servers — uninstalling the app removes everything.

1. Delete your account

This deletes your account, your Google sign-in for BookReader, and everything stored on the account. It cannot be undone.

  1. Open the BookReader app.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Under the account card, tap Delete account.
  4. Read the confirmation and tap Delete.

The deletion happens immediately. You are signed out on that device, and the account is gone on every other device you used it on. Signing in again later starts a completely new, empty account.

2. Delete only your synced data

If you want to remove the copy stored on our servers but keep your account and sign-in, use this instead.

  1. Open the BookReader app.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Under the account card, tap Delete cloud data.
  4. Read the confirmation and tap Delete.

Your account, sign-in and app settings stay. The synced library, reading progress, highlights, notes, saved words, reading history and any backed-up book files are erased, on every device. Cloud sync is then switched off on your device until you turn it back on with the Cloud sync switch on the same screen.

3. What is deleted, and what is kept

Books on your device are never touched. Neither option deletes the PDF, EPUB, Word or text files on your phone — they are your files. To remove those, delete them from your device, or uninstall the app to clear the reading data it stored locally.
